Egg Economy

When thinking about boiling an egg, think how much more energy you use by having it this way? It is more cost effective to either fry or scramble.

If you do decide to boil, consider boiling half a dozen in one go and eat one or two now and the rest cold later or perhaps in a salad. This again would save enormous amounts of energy.

When boiling for a semi soft yolk. Clean the egg thoroughly in cold water. Place the egg in a small milk pan with just enough cold water to cover the egg. Bring the water to the boil and turn the heat off. Wait for one minute before removing. You will have a perfectly cooked semi-soft yolk. If you want is softer, remove immediately the water boils or harder leave for another minute or so.

The reason the egg is cleaned beforehand is so you can make a hot drink with the boiled water after the egg is removed.
